All the boys love Mandy Lane

All the boys love Mandy, who wouldn’t… she has perfect hair! As teen horrors go, this one is pretty good. It ticked the box of gore, ticked the box of sex, and even had the good ole ‘girl left alone, shes gonna die now…’ feel about it. But… and heres a big but, it wasn’t cheesy.

It had a pretty good twist and the cast wern’t awful. Beautiful shots and a pretty good sountrack to match. Surprizing favourite of the day!

Look out for: Gruesome rooftop jump into the pool at the start of the film.
See if you like: A good horror flik.

Over Her Dead Body

This light hearted rom com is good… but only if you LOVE rom coms. The story follows Henry, who loses his wife to be, kate, on their wedding day. His weirdo sister convinces him to go see a psychic and the fun starts. If you are tagging along to keep the girlfriend sweet, its reassuring to know you can still stare at Eva Longoria Parker, and seem interested in the film, all at the same time. I thought it was probably best left for the £5 dvd buy, not for the cinema.

Look out for: Kate (Eva Longoria Parker) visiting Ashley for the first time.
See if you like: What Women Want, The Break-Up, any other average rom com.

Be Kind Rewind

Jack Black plays magnetised Jerry, a simple character who lives in a motor-home. We really don’t get to find out alot about him, but that doesn’t matter, its Jack Black, and he always delivers. It doesn’t take long before we hear him ‘rig-a-goo-ing’, in-fact, its in the opening credits. Bringing comedy and black-isms throughout, he is definitely the star outshining Mos Def. Talking of which, his character, Mike, brings some funny moments, as well as a heartfelt touch to a simple storyline.

Overall the film is worth a watch, if you love Jack Black, you wont be disappointed, however, this isn’t his best film. The story is quite simple, and the characters have little depth, but for a lighthearted comedy with silly parts, it did its job!

Look out for: Their remake of ghostbusters…. very funny!
See if you like: Any other Jack Black weird comedy.
